Obituary of Sylvia J. Donaldson

SYRACUSE- Sylvia Jean Donaldson, age 71 of Syracuse, but formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse. Calling hours for Sylvia will be on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Beth Benham officiating. Burial will follow at Hailesboro Cemetery. Condolences may be made online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Sylvia was born on November 11, 1942 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Tilley S. and Bessie L. (Denecia) Perrigo. She attended Gouverneur High School. Sylvia married Clifford A. Donaldson on July 4, 1970 at her mother's home with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Clifford passed away on May 20, 2003. Sylvia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Gouverneur VFW and the American Legion. She was an avid bowler and she enjoyed painting and crocheting. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Vernon H. and Phyllis McIntosh of Central Square, NY and Jonathan J. and Bobbi McIntosh of Cicero, NY; three daughters and their husbands, Diana K. and Mark Blodgett of Atlanta, GA, Rose M. and Harry Tucker of Lakeland, NY and Doris E. and Dwayne Root of West Monroe; a brother Edwin Perrigo of Richville; three sisters, Clara Sipher of Fowler, Hilda Dunn of Gouverneur and Dorothy Bressett of Hailesboro; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sylvia is predeceased by two brothers, Melvin and Richard Perrigo and two sisters, Beatrice Goodnough and Shirley Fuller. Donations may be made in Sylvia's memory to American Cancer Society, P.O.
