Obituary of Cynthia H. Edwards

GOUVERNEUR- Cynthia H. Edwards, age 68, of Gouverneur, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Gouverneur Hospital. There will be calling hours for Cindy on Tuesday, January 7, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Cindy was born on February 2, 1956 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Robert K. and H. Norine (Lenahan) LaVack. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1974 and then went on and attended one year at New Berry Junior College in Boston, MA Cindy worked for Jefferson-St. Lawrence NYSARC as a Direct Support Personnel for many years. She enjoyed taking care of others for many years. She always loved making new friends and spending time with her old ones. In her spare time, she enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to new places, taking trips to different casinos and lounging on the beaches. What she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her kids and grandkids. Surviving is six daughters, Brooke Lopez, Pamela Edwards, Joanita Wreggelsworth, Alicia Edwards, Tara and Steve Curtin and Kelly and Tony McKinney; a brother, Fred and Melanie LaVack; eight grandchildren, Azyia, Kaleb, Cruz, Deluca, Kobe, Lauren, Omarion, Aphrodite, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cindy is predeceased by her parents; a brother, James LaVack and two sisters, Katherine and Catherine LaVack.
