RUSSELL- Rosemary A. Allen, age 82, of Russell, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
There will be calling hours for Rosemary on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Fine. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Rosemary was born on July 9, 1942 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Charles and Irene (Fenton) O'Shea. She graduated from Knox Memorial High School in 1962. On November 15, 1963, she married Leonard T. Allen at the Edwards United Methodist Church with Rev. Cameron officiating. Leonard passed away on December 29, 2013.
Rosemary was a medical driver for the Department of Social Services for many years.
Surviving is her companion, James Butler; a daughter, Tonya and Terry Clary; a son, Dell and Mary Allen; a sister, Cindy Griffin; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Rosemary is predeceased by her husband; her parents; a son, Wayne Allen; two sisters, Elizabeth Carpenter and Beverly VanGroul and a brother, Charles O'Shea.
Donations may be made in Rosemary's memory to the Russell Volunteer Rescue Squad, The American Cancer Society or to St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.
