Obituary of Michael J. Holly

RUSSELL- Michael J. Holly, age 39, of Russell, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 in the Town of Russell. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Mike's funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Edwards Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Benham officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards. Condolences may be made online to www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Michael was born on January 9, 1974 in Gouverneur to John D. and Diane J. (Enslow) Holly. He graduated from Edwards Knox Central School in 1992 and then he entered into the United States Army were he served from 1992 until his honorable discharge in 1996. Mike was a logger working for Bears Neck of the Woods and Sons for the last couple of years. Previously he worked construction, working for various companies. He was a member of the Bingo Hunting Club. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, being outside and he especially enjoyed being with his son. Mike is survived by his companion, Angela Smith of Russell; his son, Riley M. Holly of Russell; a step daughter, Tiffany Briant of Fullerville; his father, John D. Holly of Edwards; his sister and her husband, Emily and Gerry Baker of Harrisville; a grandmother, Dorothy Enslow of Canton and his nephew, Kyle Baker of Harrisville. Mike is predeceased by his mother, Diane J. Holly and his uncle, Terry Holly. Donations may be made in Mike's memory to the Gouverneur Business Women Breast Cancer Fund, P.O.
