FINE – Percy A. Law, age 94, of Fine passed away peacefully with family at his side on October 25, 2024. Now he can join his wife of 52 years, Maxine.

Percy was born on April 24, 1930 in Fine to the late John Carlos Law and Mary Ward. He attended school on the Ridge Road in Oswegatchie and in the Oswegatchie School.

Percy did farm work from the age of 16 and worked as an oiler for General Electric in Syracuse for a few years. Percy started working at J&L Steel in 1955 and worked there until the mill closed in 1977. After J&L Steel closed down, Percy worked in the woods, logging, for several years.

He married Maxine Spicer in their home in Fine on July 31, 1971. Maxine passed away on August 11, 2024. In his free time, Percy enjoyed hunting, selling bundled wood (The Wood Guy) and watching the wild life outside his window. He also worked in a sugar bush making syrup for over 30 years.

His survivors include three sons, David (Sharon), Steven (Bettina), and Jeffrey (Kathy); three daughters, Joanne Law, Laurie Spicer, and Cheri (Alvin) Kelley. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by two daughters, Louise Law and Linda Parmeter, a son, Frederick, five brothers, Lawrence "Tony", Donald, Charles, Guy, and Ward Law; and six sisters, Shirley McCartin, Lurah Matthews, Florence Fulmer, Fern Thivierge, Edna Mallette, and Evangeline Pike and two grandsons, Steven Law and Jared Rudderham.

There will be graveside service and Celebration of Life held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Fine, NY, followed by the Fine Fire Hall.
