Obituary of Daniel A. McEathron

HARRISVILLE - Daniel A. McEathron, age 93, of Tallahassee, FL and formerly of Harrisville, NY, passed away on November 23, 2013. The burial service for Daniel will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Cemetery, Pitcairn with military honors. After the burial, a reception will be held at the Harrisville Methodist Church. Daniel was born on August 12, 1920, in Pitcairn to the late Arthur Daniel and Mary Adelia (Tomlinson) McEathron. He attended the Newton Falls School, graduated from Harrisville Central High School in 1939. Daniel served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Daniel worked for J&L Steel in Star Lake, owned a family farm for many years, and worked as a L.P.N for New York State at Wassaic until his retirement in 1977. He married Esther Guinup on January 30, 1946, in Harrisville by Rev. Chapman officiating. His survivors include his wife, Esther of Tallahassee, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell A. and Sharon McEathron of Wassaic, NY; and daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl of Dover Plains, NY, Mabel "Susie" and Gunther Pentz of Canajoharie, NY and Karen Ashworth of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by sister, Muriel "Tootie" Disco of Watertown; brother, Everett "John" of Dover Plains; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters, Madeline McCartha, Bessie Stevens, Maude Finley; and three brothers, Herbert, Robert and Harold McEathron.
