GOUVERNEUR – Beatrice A. Butler, age 75, of Gouverneur, passed away on June 17, 2024 at Rochester General Hospital.

There will be a graveside service for Beatrice and her husband, Charles, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hermon Cemetery. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Beatrice was born on January 18, 1949 in Potsdam to the late Ernest and Ruth (Greenwood) Hooper. She graduated from Gouverneur High School and married Charles N. Butler on October 14, 1967 at the Gouverneur Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. They were married for 52 years when Charles passed away on August 11, 2020.

Beatrice enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and sudoku, crocheting, and working on plastic canvas. Above all else, she loved being with her family.

She is survived by her son, Scott L. Butler, daughter, Diane M. Butler, a granddaughter, Kensie Marie Harrington, and a brother, Reggie Hooper. She is predeceased by her husband and a brother, Thomas Hooper.
