OSWEGATCHIE – Carl C. Northrop, age 70, of Oswegatchie, NY, passed away on June 14, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Carl was born on November 16, 1953 in Star Lake to the late Elton and Joan (Dowling) Northrop. Carl married Laurie A. Hickey on June 30, 1984. He worked at OWD in Tupper Lake, NY from 1985 to 2008 when the plant shut down. Carl enjoyed playing golf, the outdoors, and the camaraderie of family. Carl is survived by his wife, Laurie, 3 sons, Zachary (Taya), Emerson (Samantha), Ethan, a daughter, Zana, and 4 grandchildren, Sunshine, Kenleigh, Kayden, and Kane, 5 nephews, 4 nieces, and a great-niece. He is also survived by a brother, Robert, 2 sisters, Jo Northrop Thomas (Gene) and Kay Malarkey, and a sister-in-law, Paula Hickey (Walter). He is predeceased by his parents, Elton and Joan (Dowling) Northrop, a sister, Luann Northrop, and a nephew, Christopher Northrop. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Star Lake Fire Department on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake.
