Cranberry Lake- Lora D. Rohde, age 99, of Cranberry Lake, NY passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.

There will be calling hours for Lora on Monday, April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cranberry Lake Cemetery with a celebration of life to follow at the Cranberry Lake Fire Hall. Lora was born on January 29, 1925 in Mannsville, NY to the late Allen and Doris (Hedger) Brown. She graduated from Bellville Central School in 1943. Lora married Francis W. Rohde on June 28, 1944. Francis passed away on April 15, 2013.

Lora worked for a year at a defense plant in Syracuse, then Fassetts Meat Market in Adams. She worked for a while at Ring's 5 & 10 in Adams, raised chickens, was a teachers aid at Clifton-Fine Central School and worked at Park Restaurant in Cranberry Lake. But, the majority of her time was staying home to raise her children. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of Western Adirondack Parish, the Adirondack Presbyterian Church and the Fireman's Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting, knitting, sewing and flower gardening.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda D. Rohde of Liverpool, NY; two sons and their wives, James A. and Nancy Rohde of Mansfield, OH and William F. and Evelyn Rohde of Spring Hill, FL; five grandchildren, Karen and Jim Lucas, Larry Rohde, Annette Evans, Michael Rohde, and Catherine and Mryanda Gillow; eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Lora is predeceased by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Jeffrey Rohde (2000); a brother, Howard Brown; and three sisters, Marcia Clark, Barbara VanEpps and Caroline McVean.
