NORFOLK- S. Kent Pierce, age 92, of Norfolk, NY passed away on March 25, 2024 at his home.

There will be a graveside service on June 8th at 11:00am at St. Hubert's Cemetery in Star Lake. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Kent was born on May 20, 1931 in Carthage, NY to the late Stanley L. and Pearl (Crawford) Pierce. He graduated from high school in Oswegatchie and then went to work at the Newton Falls Paper Mill. He lived most of his adult life in Star Lake, only later moving to Norfolk, NY.

Kent will be remembered for his love of taking long car trips to see family and new places, including one of his last long road trips, driving to Oregon when he was 83 to see family. He was able to stop and see his sister Joan and husband Don, and nieces and nephews in Wisconsin on the way home. There were many years he and Gloria enjoyed their annual vacations to Cape Cod. He loved auctions and finding unique things, finding a good deal at thrift stores, and talking about things he would like to invent or invest in. His children will always remember how he liked to swim in the winter (long before it became popular) and his stories of swimming in the ocean in Maine.

Surviving is his wife, Gloria; his five children and their spouses, Mary Pierce and Bob Persson of RI, Amy Moore of Palmyra, NY, Kathy and Dennis Biles of Bend, OR, Stanley Pierce of Schenectady, NY and Jaime Pierce of Potsdam, NY; six step children, Rutherford "Jay" and Candy Young of Manchester, NH, Brenda Young of Hooksett, NH, Laura and James Parmeter of Lisbon, NY, Cynthia Young of Manchester, NH, Joseph and Jessica Young of Franklin, NH and Christopher and Cheryl Young of Goffstown, NH; a sister, Diane of Surprise, AZ; 28 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Kent is predeceased by three children, Peter, Thomas and Susie Pierce: a son-in-law, Tim King and a sister, Joan.
