STAR LAKE – Diane L. Towne, age 74, of Star Lake, New York, passed away on April 10, 2024 at 10:45 p.m. surrounded by family at Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient battling Cancer.

Calling hours will be held at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Fine. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Diane was born June 2, 1949 in Star Lake, daughter of Dale Kerr (deceased) and Betty (Hewitt) Kerr. She married Daniel L. Towne on July 27, 1968.

Diane had worked as the Business Office Manager for the Clifton-Fine Hospital for several years, where she enjoyed helping her community, before becoming a small business owner in Seneca Falls, NY. Upon retirement, Diane returned home to the lake she grew up on and loved. She took great pride in sharing her home on the lake with her family and friends to enjoy, as she did.

Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved spending time with her family. The time with her family was the most important thing to her. Diane is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Towne, sons, Craig (Vicky) Towne, Cory (Kristin) Towne, and Brian (Becky) Towne, and grandchildren, Dylan, Haydn, Nolan, Keely, Curtis, Brianna, Raegan, Rylee, and Tucker. Also surviving are her mother, Betty Kerr (94) and siblings, Dean (Kandi) Kerr, Coleen Crary, Betsy Kerr, Debbie (Bob) Fratangelo, and Tom (Tonya) Kerr, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
