GOUVERNEUR – Barbara A. Tuttle, age 80, of Gouverneur, passed away on March 9, 2024 at her home under the care of her family and hospice.

Barbara was born on July 13, 1943 in Gouverneur to the late Charles and Florence (Johnson) Rawlinson. She grew up in Spragueville and attended Gouverneur Central School.

Barbara married Robert E. Tuttle on March 10, 1962 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who took pride in the upkeep of her home, decorating and painting everything in sight. She was a feisty, strong-willed woman who spoke her mind; it was her way or the highway. She also enjoyed shopping at Walmart and going out to eat in various places.

Her survivors include her husband, Robert Tuttle, daughter, Melissa (Steven) Miller, son, Robbie (Melissa) Tuttle, sister, Helen Shampine, 3 grandchildren, Bridget Backus, Cameron Tuttle and Chase Tuttle, and 2 great-grandchildren, Luke Backus and Lincoln Backus.
