GOUVERNEUR- John P. "Little John" Lando, age 66, of Gouverneur, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

There will be calling hours for John on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. There will be no funeral service. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

John was born on February 28, 1957 in Syracuse, NY to the late John H. and Mary F. (Evans) Lando Jr. He married Joanne Lobdell, who passed away. John worked in Housekeeping and maintenance at Castle Rest Nursing Home in Syracuse for 20 years.

John enjoyed decorating the house for Christmas, he loved going to garage sales and watching game shows. He was a quiet, happy go lucky guy.

John is survived by a step son, Harold Lobdell and his companion, Beth; three brothers, Allen Lando and his companion Lisa Burns; Dwayne Lando and Tony Lando; three sisters, Rosie Babb, Mary and James Wells and Patricia and Scott Wells and two grandchildren, Cassandra and Chelsea and five great grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Roy and Donald "Duck" Lando.

Donations may be made in John's memory to an animal shelter of one's choice.
