Janet and I are very sorry for your loss. Al and I worked many shifts together for many years at the Port of Entry, Ogdensburg. I always like working with Al because you knew you could count of him to have your back and he was just a great guy to work with. We were both local sports fans and had many discussions of the rivalries between Gouverneur and Ogdensburg. He was one of the best. Thank you for his service to our country.

My name is Bob Stephenson, and I was with U S Customs in Massena when Alan joined in Ogdensburg. I worked in numerous operations with Al while an Inspector, Supervisor, and Port Director in Massena. I would offer my condolences in person, but I have a cold, and do not want to spread those germs through a family that is already grieving.
Al Mason will be fondly remembered in the entire Northern Border Customs family as well.

Joan and family, Just like all who knew Al I will miss him. I enjoyed working with him at the Ogdensburg Port all those years. We shared a lot of laughs. I wish we could have spent more time on the golf course together, but the time spent clubbing that little ball around the course was fun. Al was a good man who valued honesty and integrity. My deepest condolences.

To the Mason family,
It's hard for me to put into words what a special man Al was to me. I first met Al when I came to work for U.S. Immigration in Ogdensburg in 1998. We were such a small port that we all were like family. As a port we did a lot of things outside of work together....a lot of great memories were made. We shared a love for the NY Yankees and Syracuse Orange. He gave my son and I his Yankees tickets once so we could experience Yankee Stadium. I still listen to a CD of music he made me...his voice is on it. We had many conversations throughout the years we worked together, most of them around sports and family. He was so proud of all his children. I attended his wedding to Joan and was so happy they found each other. My heart aches today for the loss of Al. A true gentleman in every sense of the word. My condolences to all of you.
