Obituary of Marjorie E. Bango

FINE – Marjorie E. Bango, age 84, of Fine, passed away on December 21, 2023 at Gouverneur Hospital. There will be a calling hour held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with her funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Fine. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Marjorie was born on October 1, 1939 in Gouverneur to the late Roy and Jennie (Finley) Durham. She graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1957 and married Leon Finley on December 15, 1957. Mr. Finley passed away on June 11, 1986. Marjorie later married Gary Bango. Mr. Bango passed away on December 21, 2011. Marjorie was a housewife and excellent cook and baker, having made countless birthday cakes for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting. She made her daughter and granddaughter's wedding dresses and every family member has a handmade Afghan or quilt made be her or her twin sister. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, going to craft fairs and rummage sales, and visiting the casino. She is survived by 2 children, Gary Finley and his wife, Kelly of Natural Bridge, Linda (Bush) Potter and her husband, Duane of Fine, her twin sister, Margaret Thomas of Harrisville, 4 grandchildren, Daisy, Andy (Shannon) Kathy, and Tom (Cierra), 15 great-grandchildren, Logan, Laraina, Leon, Liam, Alexis, Corbin, Layla, Katie, Andrew, Kaison, Anastasia, Amelia, Skyler, Trisha, and Joey and has one more on the way. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marjorie is predeceased by her husbands, a son, Ronald Finley, and siblings, Beatrice Stone, Alice Regan, Ruth Durham, and James Durham.
