EDWARDS - Keitha M. Webb formerly of Edwards went to be with her Lord and to sing in his Angel Band on October 25, 2013. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Edwards on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 7 - 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Gilbert of the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church and Rev. John Putney retired EP Wesleyan minister officiating. Burial will follow in the South Russell Cemetery. Keitha was born August 1, 1924 in Carthage to the late Ceylon and Celia (Hamilton) Durham. She attended school in Fine and later received her GED. Keitha married John A. Webb on May 20, 1943 in Tonawanda NY by the Justice of Peace. The couple lived in Gouverneur after John was discharged from the Army later moving to the Edwards area. After the passing of John (Bud- June 26, 1984), Keitha spent her winters in Brooksville Wesleyan Village, Florida where she worked at the Village's dining hall. After several near death health issues, Keitha was forced at the age of 88 to move from Florida to North Carolina. Mrs. Webb worked for the Defense Department and a cheese factory while her husband served in WW II. She started working as the cook for the Edwards Nutrition Center before becoming the Manager there after her children were raised and on their own. She retired in 1990 after 15 years of service. She was a member of the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed crafting, word puzzles, card games, being with family and friends. She was a Girl Scout leader in Edwards for several years and volunteered at Bible School. Her survivors include a son, John H. (June) Webb of Maple, NC; her daughter Donna J. (Phillip) Soper of Edwards, NY; brothers, Vernon Durham, Brooksville, Fl; Clayton Durham (Mary) of Clark Fork, ID; Ceylon (Yvonne) Durham of Derby, NY; Edward (Carol) of Angola, NY & Brooksville, FL; and sisters, Mildred (Richard) Hubbard of Cicero, NY; Marguerite (Elmer) Traver, Binghamton, NY. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; Step-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; a son, Jeffrey D. Webb; two sisters, Marie Parmalee and Hazel VanDenburg; two brothers, Martin Durham and Donald Durham. Donations in memory of Keitha may be made to the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church, 148 Co.
