OGDENSBURG- Susan Lee Putnam, age 60, of Ogdensburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.

There will be calling hours for Susan on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 21st at 1:00 p.m. at Stepping Stones Church in Fowler, NY with Pastor Donna Thorpe officiating. Susan was born on July 18, 1963 in Peterborough, NH to Frank and Stella (Buffum) Putnam. She attended school in New Hampshire. She married the father of her children, James Ashley Sr. and then Darrell Miller, and then she met her life companion, Wayne LaFave and they have been together for over twenty-five years.

She worked at various places, but most recently worked at Walmart in Ogdensburg before becoming sick. She was a member of the Gouverneur VFW. Susan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, collecting rooster figures and she loved wild horses and sanctuaries. Susan's greatest love in life was her children and her grandchildren. They meant the world to her.

Surviving is her mother, Stella Singh; her longtime companion, Wayne LaFave; a daughter, Jaime Ashley-Roach; two sons, James Ashley Jr. and Joshua Ashley; three sisters, Wanetah Dean, Barbara Hitchcock and Angel Dalton; a half-brother, Robert Putnam; a step brother, Sookraj K Singh and nine grandchildren, Jadelynn, Dustin, Samantha, Jaine, Odin, Addison, Jackson, Allison, Genison, with one more on the way and three great grandchildren.

Susan is predeceased by her father, Frank Putnam and her step father Arjoon "John" Singh.
