GOUVERNEUR/MADRID – Joseph "Joe" R. Dashner, age 66, formerly of Gouverneur and currently of Madrid, passed away on March 31, 2023 at home. A calling hour will be held at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with his funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the East Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur. Joe was born on January 30, 1957 in Gouverneur to the late Addison and Harriet (Aldrich) Dashner. He attended school in Gouverneur and worked for Oswego Industries in Fulton as a sorter and collector for several years. Joe enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing his guitar. He liked to go outside to help Father Ken to do his work and enjoyed life to the fullest with a lovable attitude with lots of hugs and kisses. He loved family time and was glad to be included. His survivors include his sisters, Patricia Towne, his twin, Elizabeth "Libby" Dashner, Stella Rumble; his brothers, Roger and Howard Dashner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Whitney; and brothers, Paul, Richard and Merton Dashner. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
