CRANBERRY LAKE - Lucas Paul McCormick, age 28, of Cranberry Lake, passed away on September 28, 2013 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Calling hours will be at French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. His funeral service will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Philip Giardino officiating. Burial will be in the Cranberry Lake Cemetery followed by a reception at the Cranberry Lake Fire Hall. Lucas was born on November 28, 1984 in Watertown to Paul and Joanne (Woods) McCormick. He graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School and completed his training in welding from BOCES South West Tech. Luke began working in small engine repair with his grandfather, George McCormick. His lifelong dream was to own his own small engine repair business. Recently Burt Demmon had become a big part of Luke's life, aiding him in his journey towards achieving that dream. Lucas had also worked at the Clifton-Fine Hospital as a C.N.A. Lucas was a dreamer who had an old soul. He loved listening to stories of old and learning about simpler times. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Juniper. He enjoyed riding snowmobiles and boating on the lake. His survivors include his parents, Paul and Joanne McCormick of Cranberry Lake; his daughter, Juniper McCormick of Cranberry Lake; twin brother Jordan Wayne McCormick of Glenville; and daughter, Olivia McCormick; maternal grandmother, Patricia Woods of Newton Falls; and his aunts and uncles, Patti Woods of Cranberry Lake, Michael Woods of Watertown, Martin and Ginger Woods of Windfall, Jeffrey Woods of Newton Falls, William and Georgiana Woods of Syracuse, Tony and Courtney Woods of Potsdam, Susan Woods of San Jose, CA, Lisa and Bill Foy of San Jose, CA, Kelly Woods and Robert Emery of San Francisco, CA, Gail and Otie Gotham of Cranberry Lake, Dale and Cynthia McCormick of Hannawa Falls, and Fred and Becky McCormick of Star Lake. He is also survived by many, many cousins and friends. Luke is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Queenie McCormick, and his maternal grandfather, Wayne Woods. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a trust fund for his daughter. Checks are to be made payable to Juniper R.
