STAR LAKE- Claudette R. Belile Sharpe Gleason, age 80, of Star Lake, passed away on December 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Claudette, known to her friends by Sally, was born on August 20, 1939 in Ogdensburg. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ozelma (Mitchell) Belile. Sally attended Louisville and Madrid Schools and married Harvey K. Sharpe on August 24, 1957. Together they had seven children. Harvey passed away on December 1, 1975. Sally later married Wayne Gleason in April of 1989. Wayne passed away in 2010. Sally belonged to the Community Church in Louisville, NY; The American Legion Auxiliary in Benson Mines, Post 1539 where she held multiple posts. She also belonged to the VFW in Gouverneur and Edwards, as well as holding several posts for the American Legion in Antwerp Post 916. Sally worked as a bartender at American Legion Posts 1539 and 916. She also worked at Dolan's Market in Star Lake and cleaned camps for the Little Kill Deer Club. Sally is survived by a brother, Herbert Belile of Rome, NY; her children, Debbie Sharpe of Tupper Lake, NY, Steven Sharpe of California, Terry Sharpe of Oklahoma and Sherry Perrault of Cranberry Lake, NY. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and both of her husbands, Sally is predeceased by three sons, Dale, Timmy and Barry Sharpe. She is also predeceased by a brother, Mitchell and four sisters, Donna, June, Darlena and Zelda. There are no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sally's memory to the Star Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.
