Obituary of Christine A. McIntosh

GOUVERNEUR – Christine A. McIntosh, age 58, of Gouverneur, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 18, 2016 surrounded by family. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Her funeral mass will be held at the St. James Catholic Church in Gouverneur on Friday at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial in the New St. James Cemetery. Christine was born on May 9, 1957 in Gouverneur to the late George J. Marsh, Sr. and Anna T. (Gaumes) Marsh. She graduated from the Gouverneur Central School in 1975 and studied at Mater Dei College in Ogdensburg. She married Douglas L. McIntosh on December 14, 1974 at the St. James Catholic Church officiated by Father Norman Poupore. Christine faithfully worked as the secretary of St. James Catholic Church for 28 years. She enjoyed fishing, reading, visiting casinos and especially spending time with her family. Her survivors include her husband, Douglas McIntosh, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Shawn LaBow; son, Douglas McIntosh, Jr.; sisters, Beverly and Gordon Walrath, Sue Ann Shepherd; and grandchildren, Aleesha and Michael LaBow. She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, George "Sonnie" Marsh, Jr. and Herbert Marsh. Donations in memory of Christine may be made to the St. James Catholic Church.
