GOUVERNEUR- Roger W. Hawn, age 81, of Gouverneur, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Roger was born on November 2, 1944 in Gouverneur, NY to the late William D. and Emma (Hutton) Hawn. He attended Hammond Central School. Roger had started his working career as a mechanic for Seaver-Graves Chevrolet in Gouverneur and then went on to work as a truck driver for St. Joe Mineral Corp. After his retirement from the mines, Roger then filled his time working as a bartender for the Wegatchie Hotel. In his free time, Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was always tinkering on stuff. If it had a motor or moving parts, he would work on it.

Roger is survived by two sons, Roger W. (Melanie) Hawn, II and Donald K. Hawn; a brother, Dennis Hawn; three sisters, Donna Taylor, Cheryl and David Roberts and Linda and William Hall; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
