STAR LAKE – James "Jim" S. Guiles, age 63, formerly of Star Lake, passed away on March 14, 2026 at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

Jim was born on April 6, 1962 in Gouverneur to the late Gilbert W. Guiles, Sr. and Martha J. (Dalton) Guiles. He attended the Clifton-Fine Central School and worked for Edison Chouest Offshore in Harvey, LA as a seaman and deckhand until he became disabled at 17 years old. He later worked part time as a dishwasher in Pennsylvania. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, scratch cards, and going to the casino.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Leigh and Daniel Looney, sisters-in-law, Beth Guiles and Charyl Weaver, and his nieces and nephews.

Jim is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Janet Long, Gilbert "Gibby" Guiles, Jr., Michael Guiles, and Mark Guiles.
