Richard O'Shea Obituary

WAYLAND/RUSSELL – Richard O'Shea, age 77, of Wayland NY and

formerly of Russell, passed away at home on December 27, 2025.

There will a burial with military honors held in the South Russell

Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home

Richard was born on October 1, 1948 in Gouverneur to the late Danny (Donald) and Viola (Allen) O'Shea. He served as a Helicopter Door

Gunner and Ammunition Apprentice in Vietnam for the United States

Army from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1971.

Richard loved riding his Harley, was a member of a few biker clubs,

and enjoyed restoring classic cars. Richard was a handy mechanic, collector of vinyl records, musician, and enjoyed RC cars. He was a sentimental man and enjoyed the small things in life despite his medical struggles, he was a loving father and friend to many people.



He is survived by his family that loves him very much. He has five

children, Victoria O'Shea, Corey O'Shea, Anthony (Deseree) O'Shea,

Bradley (Chelsea) O'Shea, and Brittany (Jordan Trumble) Tomasso;

his grandchildren, Abigail, Deshawn, Ryan, Chase, Viola, Gavin,

Ethan, Brooklyn, Payton, Olivia, and Emma; the mothers of his

children, Connie, Fawn, and Colleen; and his nieces and nephews,

Megan (Marcus), Adrian "JR", Dianne, Carlos (Dawn) and Dan (Tamara).

Richard is predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Eli "Butch"

O'Shea and Nancy Vargas, two grandchildren, Paisley O'Shea and

Katisha Viola O'Shea, and a niece and her husband, Victoria "Sissy"

and Earl.

Project, a cancer organization of your choice, or a fire department of

your choice.
