GOUVERNEUR – John G. Gray, age 99, of Gouverneur, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. His funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John was born on April 30, 1926 in Raymondville to the late Ross and Alice (Patrick) Gray. He attended schools in Grantville, Brookdale, and Oldens Corners. John married Lewayva A. Kirker on October 10, 1951 at her parents' home in Richville. Lewayva passed away on November 7, 1994.

John owned and operated a Dairy Farm on the Stammer Road for many years. He was very involved in the American Heart Association, raising funds through their annual walk for many years. He was a member of the Spragueville Church and loved to go fishing and ice fishing.

John is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Watson and her husband, Raymond, and Robyn Bogart and her companion, Raymond Brayton; four grandchildren, Tanni Hendrix, Marc (Lenora) Watson, Ronald (Rachel) Sawyer and William Sawyer, and thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
