NEWTON FALLS- Shelly L. Carlisle, age 57, of Newton Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with her loved ones by her side.

Shelly was born on July 5, 1968 in Alexandria Bay, NY to the late John and Gail (Dawley) Hibbard. She graduated from Indian River Central School in 1988. On April 16, 1989, she married James W. Carlisle. James passed away on October 14, 2025. Shelly was a CNA at Samaritan Hospital in Watertown, then she worked at Chaney Hall at SUNY Canton and then worked at UB's in Star Lake. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating, painting, cooking and going for walks. She would volunteer at her church and she loved attended on Sundays. She loved the holidays and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving is two sons, Matthew and his fiancé Sarah Crane and Mark and Crystal Sawyer; a step brother, Todd Shawcross; a step sister, Valerie Reynolds; 8 grandchildren, Nevaeh, Raymond, Colsyn, Ida Louise, Ransom, Presley, Liyana and Vanessa and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her uncle Jim Hibbard, who loved her dearly.

Shelly is predeceased by her husband, James and a son, Michael Carlisle, who were also tragically taken in the fire. She is also predeceased by a daughter, Jamie Carlisle; and a step brother, Don Shawcross.

Shelly will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her memory will forever be remembered and instilled in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
