RUSSELL- Carol L. LaWall, age 74, of Russell, NY passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Canton Potsdam Hospital.

Carol Lauretta (Doenges) LaWall was born on December 23, 1950 in Queens, NY, daughter of John "Jack" and Agnes (Kelly) Doenges. Raised in Valley Stream, Long Island, Carol went on to attend SUNY Potsdam where she received her Master's Degree in Education.

Upon graduation, Carol began her career teaching at Edwards Central School before moving on to her passion, teaching and sharing the French and Spanish languages with her students at Hermon-DeKalb Central School. An exceptional teacher, she was loved by her students, whom she adoringly called, 'my kids'. In a yearbook dedication, Carol's beloved students wrote, 'Your patience and obvious fondness for us encouraged us to work extra hard'. She was considered a Mother to all.

Carol cherished her books, her cats, gardening and music.

Surviving Carol is Randall Jay and John Randall LaWall, ex-husband and forever loving son.
