DEKALB JCT.- Daniel I. Cole, age 77, of Dekalb Junction, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
There will be a graveside service for Daniel on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards with John Youngblood officiating. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Edwards. Condolences may be shared online to www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Daniel was born on November 14, 1948 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Kenneth D. and Margaret E. (Davis) Cole. He attended Hermon-Dekalb School. On November 16, 1968, he married Jerrilyn B. Whitford at the Edwards Methodist Church.
Over the years, Daniel worked for a short time at the Mines and the Paper Mill. He was a farmer for 19 years for Robbin's Farm in Sackets, then worked for the Town of Dekalb, before working for the County, then the State Department of Transportation in Potsdam. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club and the Dekalb Fire Department. Dan enjoyed playing and listening to music, his favorite was playing the Doboj. He loved hunting, fishing and tinkering on tractors and a hit and miss.
Surviving is his wife, Jerrilyn; a son, Lorenzo and Heather Cole; five daughters, Lenora Forbes, Eva and Ryan Rowe, Ruth and David Bolton, Christine and Jeff St. Andrews and Rebecca and Christopher Stransky; a brother, Kenneth "Andrew" Cole; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Daniel is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Lucy Allen.
Donation may be made in Daniel's memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Highway 11, Potsdam, NY 13676. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice for the wonderful care and support they received.
