NEWTON FALLS- James W. "Jimmy" Carlisle, age 60, of Newton Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 tragically at home in a house fire.

James was born on January 15, 1965 in Watertown, NY to the late Corlis and Ethel (Daniels) Carlisle. He attended Indian River Central School. On April 16, 1989, he married Shelly L. Hibbard.

Jimmy, also known as "baldy" to most, worked as a laborer for the Town of Philadelphia until he became disabled. He loved watching football and wrestling. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing pool and cards. He enjoyed his cold adult drinks while hanging out with his friends and family. He loved listening to Madonna and Lynyrd Skynyrd and riding snowmobiles. He started working on a farm at the age of 15 for the Neuroth family and bought his first snowmobile with the money from that job. He loved doing scratch offs and getting any winnings from them. Family and friends were always being asked to bring him to get his tickets.

Surviving is his wife, Shelly; two sons, Matthew and his fiancé Sarah Crane and Mark and Crystal Sawyer; two brothers, David and Brenda and Steven and Deanna; two sisters, Vivian and Ross Butterfield and Barbara and Rex Tuthill; 8 grandchildren, Nevaeh, Raymond, Colsyn, Ida Louise, Ransom, Presley, Liyana and Vanessa and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is predeceased by a son, Michael Carlisle, who was also tragically taken in the fire. He is also predeceased by a daughter, Jamie Carlisle; and two sisters, June Ridsdale and Betty Heneke.

James will be greatly missed.
