DEGRASSE – Richard "Dick" E. Towne, age 89, of DeGrasse, passed away on November 5, 2025.

Dick was born on August 26, 1936 in Russell to the late Melford H. and Lida A. (Tousley) Towne. He attended the DeGrasse local school and graduated from Knox Memorial High School in 1954.

A marriage to Linda Barker ended in divorce. Dick worked as a welder for J&L Steel, then worked in Alaska for several years, and retired from Viking Snowplow in Harrisville in 1996.

Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his garage. He was a former member of the Edwards Snowmobile Club.

He is survived by his children, Joanne Towne, Rick and Sheri Towne, Ronald "Ron" and Susan Towne, Janice and Adam Walgenbach, and Julie Towne and Bill Patnode, brothers, John, Douglas and Donald Towne, sisters, Patricia Cameron and June Briggs, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by brothers William and Barry, and sisters, Barbara Pike, Betty Reynolds, Gwendolyn Harper, and Bonnie Stubbs.
