STAR LAKE - Marjorie T. Bevins, age 88, formerly of Edwards and Star Lake, NY passed away on September 11, 2025 at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.

Marjorie was born on January 19, 1937 in Hudson, NY to the late Duane and Elizabeth (Bassile) Adriance. She attended school in Jersey City, NJ and later attended college at West Virginia University. Marriages to George Griggs, Robert McManus and Robert Bevins ended in divorce.

Marjorie was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She worked several odd jobs as a young person in Jersey City. She was a former manager for Tupperware home parties, and a nurse's aide briefly. She and her husband Robert McManus owned and operated the Mr. Fresh bakery truck while living in New Egypt, NJ, as well as a bakery on Main Street in Edwards, NY in the early 80's. She cared for young people from Sunmount, as well as from probation in her home. She loved her children and grandchildren, stating this was the job she loved most. She enjoyed listening to music, singing, gardening and farming. She also loved getting a good deal and was often hitting up various flea markets, auctions and garage sales.

Surviving is a son, George Griggs of New Jersey; two daughters, Dawn and Raymond Pryce of New Jersey and Joanne Kahelalis; a step son, Bernard Griggs of Hawaii; a step daughter, Peggy and Richard Polhemus of New Jersey along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marjorie is predeceased by two sons, Gary S. Griggs and Glenn C. Griggs; a step daughter, Sandra Moklak; two grandsons, Robert Johnson and Nathan Johnson; a granddaughter, Gwendolyn (Griggs) Kroll; a half-brother, Walter Bleda and five sisters, Dorothy Clare (Dolly), Catherine Diane, Mary Irene, and Bertha Elizabeth.
