AUBURN – Elaine C. Hradil, age 85, of Auburn and formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on July 30, 2025, at the Francis Hospice House in Syracuse.

There will be a graveside service held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Elaine was born on June 3, 1940, in Gouverneur to the late Albert S. and Elizabeth (Macaulay) Raven. She graduated from Gouverneur High School and from C.C.B.I. in Syracuse.

She married Paul J. Hradil on August 19, 1961. Mr. Hradil passed away on August 20, 2011, after 50 years of marriage. Elaine worked as a secretary in Watertown. She was very outgoing and loved to talk. Elaine enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows, was an avid NY Giants fan, played in several bowling leagues, and attended several Styx concerts. She also enjoyed fishing and embraced computers, spending time on Facebook, playing Candy Crush, and using Instacart.

Elaine is survived by two sons and their wives, Joseph and Julie Hradil and Vincent and Cindy Hradil, 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Natalie, Greg, and Tim, 2 stepgrandsons Jake and Joel Blumer and her sister, Eloise Emrich.

She is predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Paul. Donations in memory of Elaine may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse NY 13208.
