DEGRASSE- Rick L. McCarty, age 70, of DeGrasse, NY passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Rochester General Hospital.

There will be a celebration of life for Rick on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the DeGrasse Fire Hall. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Edwards. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Rick was born on July 12, 1954 in Canton, NY to the late Richard D. and Louise M. (Hance) McCarty. He graduated from Knox Memorial High School in Russell in 1972. On July 14, 1979, Rick married Deborah Willard at the St. Raphiel Church in Heuvelton.

Rick had worked at J&L Steel, then the Hugh Kelly Farm in Heuvelton, then the Heuvelton Equipment Company before working at Corning Inc. He was a member of the DeGrasse Fire and Rescue. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, playing computer games and formerly had a small hobby farm.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah McCarty; two daughters, Amanda and Pierre Prud'homme and Michelle McCarty; two grandchildren, Katie and CJ Prud'homme; five siblings, Dianna and Todd Lambert, Dawn and Richard French, Carol and Lonny Scott, Katherine and Joseph Conklin and Michael McCarty; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
