Obituary of Phyllis F. Myers

GOUVERNEUR- Phyllis F. Myers, age 75 went home to Jesus on May 26, 2025. Phyllis was born in Gouverneur, NY October 10, 1949 to Cyril "Mike" and Daphne E. (Brown) Filiatrault. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1967 earned her BA in Nursing from SUNY Utica-Rome. On November 15, 1969 she married her high school sweetheart, Terrence "Terry" J. Myers and they raised all their children in Gouverneur. Terry passed away on October 31, 2022. She began her work career E.J. Noble Hospital then Health Services of Northern New York before working for North Country Children's Clinic where she retired in 2011 as the Manager of the Adolescence Pregnancy Program. Phyllis loved God, family and many friends. She also had a love for gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Stepping Stone Church, Borderline Quilters, and the Gouverneur Garden Club. Phyllis most enjoyed spending time with her family on many camping trips, vacations and attending as many of the grandkids' activities as possible. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Sara (Gary Foote) Myers, son TJ (Christine) Myers, daughter Gina (Chad) Blair. Grandchildren Chelsea (Cory) Bromley, Logan (Miranda) Fuller, Garrison Moore (Delaney), Austin (Emily), Kayla (Jake) and Sydney (Hunter) Myers, Tyler (Tori) and Katelyn Blair and great grandchildren Kori-Ann & Parker Bromley. Brothers Jerry (Sally) Filiatrault and Bradley (Olla) Filiatrault, sisters Beverly (Raymond) DelliCarpini and Brenda (David) Broadbent, along with several nieces and nephews. She was previously deceased by her parents, Cyril and Daphne Filiatrault, sister-in-law Carol Myers, and parents-in-law, Edmund and Mary Myers. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life gathering following the funeral service on Monday at the Gouverneur Elks Lodge. Burial will be private at a later date.
