Obituary of Sandra E. Carlin

EDWARDS-Sandra E. Carlin, age 78, of Edwards, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. She was born at home on March 12, 1947 in Edwards New York to Nettie and Vernon Rice. Sandra married James Patrick Carlin Junior on March 24, 1965. As a loving mother, she raised four sons, James Patrick Carlin III, Scott Alan Carlin, Vernon Alex Carlin, and Kenneth Vernon Carlin. Sandi, as she went by, is predeceased by her mother and father; five of her sisters, Mary Lou Walrath, Joyce Zeller, Grace Holly, Beulah Kerr and Evelyn Rice who died in infancy; a brother, Vernon Rice Jr. who died in infancy; and her Youngest Son, Kenneth Vernon Carlin. Sandi dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved huge family holiday meals; Thanksgiving was her Super Bowl. No one was ever turned away or left hungry. Sandi leaves behind her husband, James P. "Sonny" Carlin Jr.; James (Beverly) III, James IV (Samantha), Scott (Sherry), Scott Junior (Megan). Vernon (Tracy), Alex, and Noah. Leslie Ann Kenneth Junior, Kirstin, Holden, Ryan and Madison she also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren and many more to come. She is also survived by three sisters, Irene Roberts, Nancy Peck and Nettie Whitford. She will be watching over us as she taught most of us to swim/float she will guide the next round of us what she taught us to teach them.
