BAMBERG, SC- Mary (Bartlett) Butterfield, age 71, of Bamberg, SC and formerly of Gouverneur, NY, passed away on April 29, 2025 at MUSC Health in Orangeburg, SC.
Mary was born on September 12, 1953 in Alexandria Bay, NY to the late Lloyd and Margarette (Mellor) Bartlett. She graduated from Indian River Central School. She married John Butterfield, who passed away.
Mary loved her dogs and she enjoyed sitting in her lawn chair drinking a cup of coffee and listening to music. She was a true free spirit.
She is survived by four brothers, George, Jim, Bob and Bill; and three sisters, Judy, Rachel and Nancy. She is predeceased by two brothers, Lowell and Glen.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Local arrangements are entrusted to French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
