GOUVERNEUR- Terry S. Platt, age 75, of Gouverneur, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at his home.
Terry was born on May 18, 1949 in Carthage, NY to the late Charles H. and Pearl I. (Perrigo) Platt. He attended school in Fowler and then Gouverneur High School. On April 2, 1969 he entered into the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on June 7, 1971. A marriage to Linda Lacey ended in separation.
Terry worked on various farms for most of his life until he wasn't able to do so anymore. He drove taxi for Yellow Cab in Watertown, worked for Tricil Landfill and also did newspaper delivery for Houghton News in Watertown. In his free time, Terry enjoyed watching westerns and movies, playing his guitar, fishing and in his younger years, playing pool and square dancing.
Surviving is three daughters, Laurie Law, Donna Darling and Jennifer Taylor; his longtime companion, Diane Bates; a sister, Tina Horton; four brothers, C. Clifford Platt, Bruce Platt, Jeff and Sara Platt and Chris Platt; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
