It has been nearly a year since my year sister has passed and I am still mourning her passing. We were close and would talk regularly on the phone for hours. Always took us three goodbyes! I could always get her laughing. She loved her pets and had me talk to her cat Rikki. We traveled together to our sister Freda’s in Louisville, and she liked stopping at the truck stops. At Freda’s she felt compelled to garden in her big backyard. She would drag me out to help. Shopping was an occupation for her and she just reveled at the country stores and all their unique trinkets. She loved horror film and insisted I watch with her, insisting I need not be such a “wuss”. We both loved card games so we played for many hours. It was irritating that I would often be ahead in the score and she would come from behind and beat me, and gloat with glee. I hope the hereafter allows her spirit to recall the fun memories and how much she is missed.

My heart feels broken. Karen was always more of a sister than a sister-in-law! We had countless adventures together and so many crazy stories to enjoy together. Our family will never be the same!
Rest in Peace beautiful spirit. I know you are frolicking in the forest with the fairies and wood nymphs. You will always be in our hearts

May years of talks across the back yard as you worked in your gardens. I still have one pan from a set I purchased from you 41 years ago as young bride. May you be a peace now.

Auntie K came to Sacandaga Lake with us. She found some rocks that she liked and wanted to use for landscaping in her yard. She loaded up her little Subaru with so many rocks it was practically popping a wheelie. I’m not sure how she made it all the way back to Star Lake with all those rocks in that little Subaru.
