In September 2023, we got Shawn to go up to Star Lake and Cranberry Lake with us. Shawn, Jim Rizzo and I spent the whole time storytelling and laughing about our childhood. Shawn even got loud a couple times, contrary to his normal reserved demeanor. It is sad when I think there will be no more memories added but I will be content with the ones you gave me. Until we meet again my dear friend, until we meet again.

I am so sorry to hear of Shawn’s passing. Regardless of what troubles life had for him, he always had that boyish laugh. I first seen it in grade school. I would go to his house on the weekend and we would spend hours roller skating in his basement. We would race around the support beams. Then we would go adventuring in the backyard. Then the babysitter taught us how to shave, as we both wanted beards as soon as possible. Shawn would be laughing all the while. Every summer when I would be up home, I would have to stop and see him. The boy in me longed to see that boyish laugh. Life never took that away. I will miss that laugh but am glad his father and brother get to see it again!

My dad and Shawn were good friends for many years, so I met him through that connection. Shawn had a love for music just like my dad and I. Shawn was extremely supportive of the band I played in with friends and travelled as far as Rochester to watch us perform. I remember visiting him and his friend Georgia with my dad. I can see myself jamming on his drum kit, to the cheer of joy and support from people that loved my family. I will never forget that. Shawn was such a nice guy and he will always be a part of times that hold very special memories. I pray Shawn is at peace and extend my condolences to his friends and family.
