STAR LAKE – Anna M. Petrie, Star Lake, passed away on March 4, 2025 at Samaritan Summit Village. She was 95 years old.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 12:00 pm at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. A Calling hour will precede the funeral from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Anna will be laid to rest at the St. Hubert's Cemetery in Star Lake beside her husband, Roger and son, Tom. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Anna was born in Newton Falls, NY on July 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Adam and Maria Kurdelchuk Shelkowich. She graduated from Newton Falls Union School and Miss McCarthy's Secretarial School in Rochester, NY.

On September 16, 1950 she married Roger M. Petrie in Ulster, PA. At the time of his passing, they had been married 65 years. Roger passed away August 21, 2016.

Anna worked at the Newton Falls Paper Mill in the Time Office for 6 years. She also worked at the Clifton-Fine Hospital in the Business Office for 14 years. Anna and Roger owned and operated Eastern Electric Company on the Oswegatchie Trail Road from 1958 – 2016.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Lori) Augliano, her son-in-law, Louis Augliano, grandson, Marc Augliano, brother-in-law, Richard Petrie, and sister-in-law, Mary Petrie. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.

Anna is predeceased by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Louise Petrie, her husband, Roger, son, Thomas, sister, Eva Jackson/Marble, brothers-in-law, John Jackson and James Marble, brother, Wesley Shelkowich, sister-in-law, Clara Shelkowich, brother-in-law, Ronald Petrie, sister-in-law, Ruth Charlton and several close friends.

Anna enjoyed living in the Adirondacks, planting flowers, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
