HAILESBORO – Dorothy M. Bressette, age 95, of Hailesboro, passed away on February 21, 2025. There will be a graveside service held in the Hailesboro Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Dorothy was born on March 10, 1929 in Gouverneur to the late Tilley and Bessie (Denecia) Perrigo. She attended the Gouverneur Central School and married Stephen E. Bressette, Sr. on April 26, 1947 at the Gouverneur Methodist parsonage. Stephen passed away on February 25, 1993. Dorothy worked for E.J. Noble Hospital in the dietary department for Kinney Nursing Home. She was a charter member of the Gouverneur VFW Ladies Auxiliary, having been a member for over 70 years. She enjoyed dancing and bowling and was involved in the Junior Bowling League and the 4-H Club. Dorothy is survived by two children, Stephen Bressette, Jr. and Ann Maroun and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Meredith Lauderdale and her husband, Shawn, three grandchildren, Sophia, Marin, and Maxwell Sweeney, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Karen Bressette.
