GOUVERNEUR- Suzanne M. Bayes, age 69, of Gouverneur, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Canton Potsdam Hospital.

Surviving is her husband, Allen Bayes, their daughter and son-in-law, Tobi and Steven Newcombe, predeceased by Amanda Bayes; three grandchildren, Billy Newcombe, Brooklynn Newcombe and Bailey and her husband Zach Snide; three brothers, Randy Hall, William Papineau and Richard Papineau.

Suzanne was born on September 9, 1954 in Gouverneur, NY to the late William and Monica (Dewey) Papineau. She attended Gouverneur Central School. On October 16, 1971, she married Allen H. Bayes at the Gouverneur Methodist Church.

Suzanne enjoyed making crafts and would sell them at local craft fairs. She loved fishing, camping and just being outdoors.

There will be a memorial service for Suzanne Bayes at the Macomb Community Wesleyan Church on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
