Obituary of Karen E. Grimshaw

Karen Elizabeth Grimshaw, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Frary officiating. Burial will be in the Hermon Cemetery. Karen was born on March 10, 1954 in Canton to the late Kenneth Grimshaw, Sr. and Sadie Mae (Basford) Grimshaw. Karen has worked at several United Helpers workshops. She was a quick-witted, fun person. Karen enjoyed watching sports and the Weather Channel, listening to music, was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse, and always had her playing cards with her. Karen was a self-proclaimed pen thief and was very proud of that. Her family would like for everyone that comes to her service to bring a pen for her. Karen is survived by two brothers, Kenneth "Skip" Grimshaw, Jr. and his wife, Shelly, Kendrick "Butch" Grimshaw; two half-sisters, Maryanne Curtis and Kella Guiles; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family, Amanda, Carmen, Angela, and her best friend Beverly; Lindsay Bylow, Jill Livingston, Jaime Lyn Mitchell, Tiffany Delello, Mary Dellapenna, Sarah Duvall, Christine Wilson, Donna Morrow, Lyndsey Jones, Jen Pratt, Ellie Bedford and Danielle Dancause. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Helen LaFountain.
