Obituary of Faye Weeks Fleming

WANAKENA/SYRACUSE - Faye Weeks Fleming, 82, of Wanakena and Syracuse, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017, after a hard fought battle with cancer. A long time resident of the North Country, she was born on July 1, 1934 in Talcville, NY, and graduated from Hermon-Dekalb Central School. She attended Business School in Watertown, NY, and later worked at both Star Lake Hospital and then at St. Lawrence University in the Dean's Office and the Math Department for twenty-five years. She lived in Canton for 40 years, and loved nothing more than to spend time at her camp in the Adirondacks. Faye had many hobbies and talents. She loved to travel, and explored the world with her husband Dan. She also loved crafting, sewing, cooking, gardening and camping. However, her greatest passion was people—both family and friends. She took every opportunity to visit with her dearest friends and family on her porch at camp, and there was no time better spent. Faye is predeceased by her parents, Nyla (Cassidy) and James Doyle, and her brother Gary Doyle. She is survived by her daughter Teresa McKenney of Syracuse, NY; her daughter Maureen Gould (Gerry) of Syracuse, NY; her son Donald J. Weeks (Cynthia) of Portland, CT; and seven grandchildren-Amanda and Rebecca McKenney, Dana and Tammy Gould, and Russell, Meagan and Nathan Weeks. There will be a celebration of Faye's life on May 27th at the French Family Funeral Home, 4159 State Hwy 3, Star Lake, NY. Calling hours will be from 11 am-1 pm, followed immediately by services and burial.
