Obituary of Frances I. Ferry-Wells

GOUVERNEUR- Frances "Frankie" I. Ferry-Wells, age 91, of Gouverneur, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Summit Village Nursing Home in Watertown. Frances was born on May 11, 1925 in Watertown, NY to the late Carl and Rose (Petrie) Hart. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1943. She was part owner of Ferry's Store in Edwards, NY and was part owner of Wells Construction. Frankie was a member of the Gouverneur VFW and the Blue Brigade marching unit. She enjoyed bingo and bowling, was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons and their wives Tim and Sue Alguire and Vincent and Cindy Ferry both of Gouverneur; four daughters, Joan and Orville Eacker of Gouverneur, Jean and Randy Weidemoyer of Souderton, PA, Lorraine Lawrence of Elysian, MN and Janice and Robert Barbarito of Gouverneur; and 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son, Ted Alguire; brother Kenneth Carl Hart, two sisters Katie Alguire and Margaret Fowler and a grandson Erik Eacker. There will calling hours on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur with her funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Orville Eacker, her son-in-law, officiating.
