OSWEGATCHIE – Nancy Lee Amereno, age 73, of Oswegatchie, passed away on November 20, 2016 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. There will be no local services. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Donations in her memory may be made to the Star Lake Fire and Rescue Department. Nancy was born on June 12, 1943 in Penn Yann, NY to the late Hugo and Eva (Christenson) Pederson. She graduated from the Penn Yann Central School in 1963. Nancy was the widow of Dominick Amereno. Together they owned and operated Nancy's Place, a deli in Englewood, NJ, for several years. Nancy loved being around her family, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed gardening and drawing, and loved fishing and watching Sunday NFL Football games and ML Baseball. Her survivors include four children, Tamela "Tammy" Alford and her companion, Ed Smith, Timothy "Tim" Alford and his significant other, Cherie Karayianopoulos, Debbra "Debbi" Lawrence and her husband, Jay, Susanne "Susie" Dressel and her husband, Fred; and three siblings, Carol Alexander and her husband, John, Dale Pederson and his wife, Barbara, and Larry Pederson and his wife, Linda. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Dominick; and a brother, Richard "Dick" Pederson.
