Type Obit Here DEGRASSE- Louise M. McCarty, age 89, of Degrasse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Highland Nursing Home in Massena. Louise was born on July 17, 1927 in Degrasse to the late Garnold and Cherrie (Bates) Hance. She attended Knox Memorial High School. Louise married Richard D. McCarty on August 23, 1945. Richard passed away on September 19, 1998. Louise worked in the cafeteria at Canton ATC for many years. She was a member of the Degrasse United Methodist Church, Degrasse Community Club and the Russell Senior Citizens. She enjoyed doing word searches, baking, crocheting and knitting. Surviving are her six children, Dianna J. and Todd Lambert, Rick L. and Deborah McCarty, Dawn M. and Richard French, Carol A. and Lonny Scott, Katherine L. and Joseph Conklin and Michael P. McCarty; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters. Louise is predeceased by her sister, Muriel Barto and three brothers, Howard Francis, and Willis Hance. Calling hours for Louise will be on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Beth Quick officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Clare.
