Obituary of Terry L. Woodward

FOWLER – Terry L. Woodward, age 50, of Fowler, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home under the care of her loving family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur, on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Klebes officiating. Burial will be in the Hailesboro Cemetery. Terry was born on March 14, 1965 in Gouverneur to Richard and Cora (Conklin) Walton. She graduated from the Gouverneur Central School in 1983 and married Tony J. Woodward on July 28, 1984 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church. Terry had worked for St. Joseph Mineral Corp, the P&C in Gouverneur, at Tripp's Diner in Fowler, and for Walton's Motors in Gouverneur. Always caring for others, Terry also served as a home health aide for many local elderly people. Terry was the perfect mom and from the moment she became a Grandma, Terry lived for her grandkids. She wanted to do everything she could to help take care of them and to be in their lives. Recently, after battling cancer for many months, she was able to take her dream trip to Niagara Falls with her entire family and had a wonderful time. Terry loved to shop at rummage sales, especially for clothing, shoes and purses. She often helped organize clothing at the St. James Outreach Center, loved to dance and to play Bingo. Her survivors include her mother, Cora Walton; her husband, Tony; daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Craig Richards; son and daughter-in-law, Tony "TJ" and Melissa; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Danielle Walton and Brian and Angel Walton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jenika, Renisa, Trent, Teigan, Ella and Cade. Terry is predeceased by her father, Richard Walton.
